Here for rides.
Next month I have to go on a residential course in central Oxford. (Chortle.... nearest I'll ever get to Oxford University.)
wef 1.1.2011 I've abandoned the car for all but essential journies. I could go by train but it is a faff and I'd like a bike with me for local travel and evening spins to the excellent local pubs for me dinner.
Please see attached as proposed route (if you rename it from .txt to a .gpx file you can upload it onto bikehike or similar). Is that route a decent/the best way to get to Oxford from my home town? Is it do-able-in-a-day for a lightly loaded 13mph cyclist in March?
The legs have 100+km in-a-day in their memory banks somewhere.
One obvious alternative is train to Reading and ride from there.
Hints, tips, clues, suggestions for breakfast lunch and tiffin stops welcomed.
Scorn, derision, and associated gales of laughter grudgingly accepted.
