On a road tyre, it makes no difference whatsoever which way round you fit them.
Mavic obviously put the arrows on pointing in opposite directions so that you would be right whichever way you put them.

I have Mavic tyres on Kysrium Elites - 'factory fitted'. Yksion Pro Powerlink on the back, Griplink on the front. I can't see any arrows on them, but both are fitted with the tread 'arrows' >>>>>>>>> pointing forwards.
Thats what i wanted to here, i got them right.
Cheers Del.

I'd be amazed if anyone actullay notices any difference.

On mtb tyres the theory is that on the rear the tread points forward to give more grip but is oppostive way round on the froutn to give more grip when braking. Even if there is no arrow, I moiunt my tyres that way and am not convinced it make an iota of difference.

(iota to the non-classically studied types means fark all in greek speak)

depends if you are standing in front of the bike or sitting on it.

example above, there is a V pattern to the tread. the direction of rotation would be so that the pointy part of the V hits the ground first.
Imaging you are cyling from left to right on this screen, the pattern left is below.

this would normally be on the back.
