You'll find both arrows will point in the same direction. At a guess from the photo they will roll away from you (judging by the limited tread pattern)

Already discussed in other CC threads, but the short answer is: either direction will do, unless you're picky about the so-called aesthetics. The tyre tread direction certainly won't affect the way the tyres perform.

typically with that type of tread pattern the tyre would be orientated so that the tyre rolls away from you in the pic from Evans

That's what I said!!

Surely all tyres are rotational otherwise they would be pointless

I have Mavic tyres on Kysrium Elites - 'factory fitted'. Yksion Pro Powerlink on the back, Griplink on the front. I can't see any arrows on them, but both are fitted with the tread 'arrows' >>>>>>>>> pointing forwards.

yes the >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> always point forward on road tyres. On MTBs, some people like to reverse the rear tyre in an attempt to get more traction with tread patterns like this.

You can almost guarantee that if you put them on so the arrows are pointing backwards, someone will tell you on your first ride out. It will bug you so much that you will go straight home and change them round.^_^
