Rose Pro SL 2000 Road Bike sizing query

I'm 5' 8" with 31" inseam.

I have input this into the Rose calculator and it is suggesting a 53cm frame.

I have tried and felt fine on these bikes: Trek 2.3 / Sepesh Allez / Spesh Secteur all with 54cm frames.

However these three bikes have geometry much closer to a Rose 55cm and conversely the 53cm Rose frame geometry is much closer to the 52cm variants of the three bikes I have tried. Only short tests though so maybe not definitive.

I will have a stab at the Competitive Cyclist tool later on but in the meantime is there anyone on here about my size who could share their frame size choices? Or any other relevant advice.

i went with Roses size guide on the website when i got the Pro Cross, originally was going to go a size down, but after a remeasure of inseam decided to go larger. Though the Cross bikes have a short tt not sure about the road bikes. Theres a decent thread on either here or bikeradar mig even be stw, with contact details of the uk rep. Not spoke to him myself, but heard nothing but good things, have a search about. He should be able to help you out more.
