I'm old enough to remember when all such charts were topped by either Bohemian Rhapsody or Bridge over Troubled Water. Now the latter doesn't even make the top 50. It's always an interesting exercise to view such lists with an 'eternal v ephemeral' mindset, to try to compensate for the recent-bias. Aretha's Respect may not always be #1, but it'll surely always be in any top 20; I'd be very surprised if - to take just one example - Kanye West feat. Pusha T, 'Runaway' still makes such a chart in 2031.
