You posted somewhere about upgrading your tyres soon (might even have been on this thread). When you do, use the old tyres on the turbo. Like I say, no need for a training tyre.
Ooh yeah that will save me a few pennies. Nice one

Let us just say I built a harness from the joists above the bike to catch me in my falls.

I had some rollers once. I set them up in a doorway so there was always something to the side of me. Sold them in the end, as I wasn't dedicated enough to get them and the bike set up indoors, didn't have a garage at the time.

The recumbent trainer is a Nordic Track C3, Mrs. GA likes it because it looks like a set piece from Star Trek. Rollers would not get past the laundry room. Or they would be exiled to the basement. A very good garage sale find, the C3si, and an almost impossible item to transport in a small sedan.

I love my rollers, hated the turbo.

Rollers encourage you to pedal very smoothly and if you get the right ones can offer a very tough workout. I have Kreitlers with a 2.25" drum and you have to push very big watts to spin them out.

Now I'm used to them I can ride with no hands and also stand for brief periods to relieve any discomfort.

And you actually feel like you're riding a bike

I went with Minoura Moz Rollers, arrived today, pretty simple to set up and so far not as daunting as I thought they'd be to ride. Out of around 20mins, I only managed under five minutes without leaning on the work bench for support but it is my first go. Maybe it's just 'new toy syndrome' but I'm a little excited
