Approaching a Junction, where I wanted to turn left, I could see that there was no gap in the traffic. Rather than unclip I just joined the shared cycle path, but hadn't noticed another cyclist coming the other way until a bit too late. Totally my fault, but only minor readjustments were needed to avoid a collision: I braked and the other cyclist stopped pedalling. The reason the other cyclist didn't brake was that he was drinking from a can of super-strength K Cider at the time. It was 9:50am.
I have read many articles on nutritional advice for rides, but this Special K plan is a new one on me. I know that they call this stuff rocket fuel but has anyone else tried it? Should I ditch the electrolyte drinks and join the revolution?
