Road Wheels for a Mountain Bike?

So, on knobblys he's too slow, and on slicks he's too fast?

ahhhh. that might explain a few things, i've got a mtb, gt avalanche, and had nobblies on there, then done the palace to palace ride, 45miles so changed them to slicks, and they dont fit right, they have a thin and fat bit so i bump along rather than ride, could i have 26' or 700c wheels and have wrong size tyres????

That's what I was told too but I have a pair of Shimano hubs and a pair of Mavic hubs with the same type of Shimano centre lock rotors on them both. I can swap the wheels over and the brake disks line up 'exactly'. I have no idea whether this would be true of other hubs obviously but clearly some manufacturers get the spec right.

I wish that were always true!

I have 2 sets of bontrager hubs and the disks do not line up!!
