How far can I go?

I have 2 bikes with rim brakes and one bike with disc (two if you include my wife's e-bike). Not much of a difference when it comes to most maintenance. I would say disc pads are a bit less fiddly to change then rim pads. No point in comparing the weight of the different bikes. Both of my rim braked bikes are carbon, my disc braked bike is aluminium, and my wife's is an e-bike, so both are heavier than the carbon bikes. I like the stopping power of the disc brakes in the wet. In the dry, it doesn't much matter, but there is a reason my disc brake bike is the main bike I use in the winter for commuting and club runs.

Also, why do bicycles have such a large disc and pads (same size as the front) at the rear?

Why do rim brakes have such large blocks of rubber at rear (same as front)

Because rim brakes work perfectly well and lots of people like or prefer them

All mine are rim braked and I have no intention of buying a bike with disc brakes. For a start, they look ugly as sin, they are heavier than rim brakes, and they can make a highly irritating noise if the pads rub on the rotors.

Got them from Large-flange Pornhub!
I 'may' have a pair of Roval Classique Pave wheels on my TT bike,

Go on, show us a pic of the whole rig

The 'Bar Extender' is for a couple of Electron lamps as I ride at night a lot and I find the higher they are up the better I can see.

Frame is a handbuilt Reynolds 653 and it's all Campagnolo apart from the brake callipers/levers, transmission is 10speed mainly Centaur (the best I could get in Aluminium at the time, anything above was a Carbon crank)

Very nice indeed. Big frame too, would fit me well, I think. Make sure you have it very securely locked ;)

Nah it's only a 'medium' frame 23.5" at a guess, look how much seatpost is showing. Mind you it's about right to show off its fluted Campagnolo loveliness. I think it looks bigger because of the really short wheelbase, you cannot get the back wheel out with the tyre inflated (they're 25s so hardly massive) and the toe 'overlap' takes a bit of getting used to but strangely the handling is lovely, quick but stable and it is actually pretty comfortable.

This has a 'big' frame,

531c Raleigh 'Road Ace' and yes I've got 'standover height' on this but only just.

Interesting. I used to have a track bike with that size of frame, was always a bit small. I guess very similar geometry.

I think the Road Ace would fit me better - 25"?

Those handlebars whatever they're called are a good shout with DT shifters too.

But I've already got a nice road bike, so you needn't worry too much...
