I have recently purchased a (used) Ti road-bike.
Very happy with the bike, it came with the original wheel-set which had basically not been used:
Shimano 105 Hubs w/ Alex Race 18 Rims, 32H
They are perfectly true and perfectly usable but Alex Rims are not great and I'd like to upgrade the wheel-set going forward.
I had Alex R450 Rims on my Genesis Aether 10 and I used them until the hubs went – replaced them with Mavic Aksium which I don't have any complaints, they were a big improvement over the Alex R450.
I have a budget of around £250/£300. I weight 110 kilos.
I could go with Mavics again but I'd be really interested to hear of other suggestions/recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

You can't go wrong with DT Swiss wheels

Get some handbuilts from Spa with 32/36 spikes
I think Mavic spokes can be a pita to replace so go for something with standard easy to get spokes..
Disc or rim brakes will obviously make a difference.
Personally I’d just run the existing wheels into the ground and save more for a replacement

Should of mentioned - the bike is Rim brakes.
DT Swiss look great but outside of my budget unless I buy used.
Spa is spacycles?
What about Hunt Four Season?

I have Hunt Four Season (can't remember which version) rim on a Ti bike, felt a big improvement on the original 105's (which were very good at the time) but will be over your budget

They're £359 for rim (£329 for disc) directly from Hunt, so yes, they're over my budget. Are Hunt the only place you can buy them from? They offer a 60 day trial period.

I got mine from a local bike shop, but I'm sure they were the same price though 'available' that day

I would recommend them, though lots of other manufacturers use the same / similar (Kinlin?) rims, have a look on the Spa website as recommended above, as I think they do similar type wheels...
