Were tyres the cause of your accident?

What's the max size tyre you can fit in the frame?

Think it's 25 max size. Much think my crash was due the road being greasy and I think the tyres being summer ones. To be honest it all happened so fast, 1 Second I'm riding the next I'm flying across the road. Luckily not too serious injuries .
I think I will get the Durano plus as the other tyres seem a bit out of my budget .

May have been some diesel, no tyre would have gripped if that's what it was. Remember that if it's dry for a long period, then it rains, it will be more slippery until the rain washes away all the rubbish from the surface. That can take a day or two.

I'm always wary of that kind of condition and take it really easy on turns.

I used to ride Gatorskins on both my commuter and weekend bike.

However, since January i've been running a pair of Durano Plus on my commuter. These are a lot grippier and instill more confidence in the wet whilst providing maximum protection (not had a visit from the fairy with these all year....touch wood, fingers crossed!!!)

Over the Spring and Summer i've been using a pair of GP4000S II's on my best bike and these have been fantastic. I'm just about to swap these over for the winter to a pair of Conti 4 Seasons based on reccomendations and reviews. Hoping that these will perform similarly but with a little more protection because I did pick up a puncture with the GP4000's a couple of weeks back.

Not sure i'd go back to Gatorskins again after trying other tyres.

Right just ordered a pair if durano pluses from chainreaction . Managed to get them for £36 with the £10 PayPal discount an for some reason there was a £5 discount voucher on my account.
Seems a good price , looking forward to trying them hopefully this weekend.
