RIP Surly?

My stepson, who until very recently worked as a mechanic in a very busy Surly dealership is of the opinion that Surly frames are 'shite'. And once at a German trade show a Surly company representative was rude to me. That's all I can bring to this thread.

I’d be interested in why your stepson thinks they’re shite @mickle . After all that factory must be making frames for some other brands as well. Perhaps it was the finish?

Word on the Maxway website also: "We currently supply to global customers. Many of them are reputed bicycle assemblers, such as Jamis, DMR, Ritchey, Surly, Salsa, Cooper, CRC, MTB cycles, Raleigh.... and so on."

Noticed the dropouts a minute in are quite similar to those on my Surly.
