Also can be used as a distress signal, iirc it was used as a warning on a Naval battleship that something was amiss, also that an enemy is causing a problem

I think 'the enemy is causing a problem' is a great distress call.

What about that small piece of paper accidentally dropped by that bishop chap at the start of the service. Should he have stooped to pick it up, or did he do right in leaving it where it landed? 🤔

Possibly, but the above insult seems to have zilch linguistic awareness and the rebuttal is unconvincing. The Cambridge dictionary defines "theocracy" as "a country that is ruled by religious leaders" and the King is both head of state and the head of the Church of England, so a religious leader, so it seems pretty clear that Britain is still a theocracy, as well as now basically a democracy. Edit to add: there are still bishops sitting as "Lords Spiritual" in the House of Lords, too. I thought they lost their seats along with most hereditaries but apparently not.

That's not to say it matters much, or is a problem, in current practice. But how did you decide it obviously isn't?

It isn't a theocracy because our head of state actually has nothing to do with ruling us.

We are ruled by the houses of Parliament, and while some members of the HoL are bishops, not enough to make us ruled by them specifically.

To be a theocracy, it has to be the church leaders who are responsible for formulating and promulgation the laws we have to live by.

That's your extra strings which I don't accept, I'm not continuing this here (try NACA) and especially not while the late ruler's coffin is in the procession!
