The Holy Father had a remarkable ability to distinguish between the sin (which God abhors) and the sinner (all of whom God loves), and so he was able to open his arms with love to everyone (todos, todos, todos). As Jesus states in Luke 5:32 "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
In this year of the Jubilee themed "Pilgrims of Hope" I place my hope in God for the Holy Father's own "Pilgrimage of Hope" to have reached its destination; for him to be with God in Heaven interceding for all us sinners here on earth. 🙏

We went to see the Giro finish in Rome last year and so visited the Vatican on the Sunday morning . We were pretty pleased to get in and see him, and then after the service, which was very informal with a lot of crowd involvement, he drove about the crowds in his open topped car and came really close to us. We are not religious and not catholic but it just seemed a really impressive experience. Thats all I have on the matter really. Sad to hear of his suffering recently.

Given that the teachings of Christianity have constantly changed based on time, misunderstandings, mistranslations and misinformation. And that there's serval different groups within Christianity believing different things. And different people choose to believe certain parts but disregard others. And that was was once meant literally is now being taken as metaphoric as science disproves large parts of it. Then it will be impossible to get any consensus as there's no solid basis for any belief as it is all personal and skewed by the above.
Ask an Italian Catholic, an English CoE, a Jehovah Witness, a Mormon, a Methodist, a very wealthy Christian, a very poor Christian, a medieval Christian, a Christian around the time of Jesus and then see which Christian has the right answer and which of the other Christians are wrong as all of their answers will be different.

I am an old git now, married 54 years.I don't want anyone, let alone 7 virgins. Gees, the thought of having to please them is frightening.

also - what do the ladies get??
In reality - if there is a Heaven or Hell I think it has to be in "another place" (no not that one!)
and the "people" there have a totally different view of reality - and hence gender is no longer a valid point - just totally irelevant
WHich buggers up a lot of the views of Heaven that people put forward
if it exists that is one thing I am looking forward to
no the "thing" but seeing people suddenly realising that the "person" is important - and not the physical things - especially gender!!
(can you imagine the face on some people when they realise!!)
