We go to Rome in early June.
Anyone know how long it takes to organise the Conclave? I appreciate it can then take a while to choose the new Pope.

That's all tosh though isn't it. No mention in the bible. I see that the usual suspects have managed to work in Nostradamus into the mix, iirc it was the '70's when " The Prophecies of Nostradamus " had its last outing.

According to Mrs SJ's religious nut sister and her husband he also predicted the death of Diana and 9/11.

Be more use if he'd tipped us off about the winner of the Irish National today.

I liked him a lot but we do need younger Popes.

Sad loss - he did seem to be genuinly nice person who tried - and to some extent - succeeded in making things better

but the system does mean that we often end up with a very old Pope
because they are in position until they die

In my opinion it needs to become more normalised for them to retire when they get to a certain point

but then you have to have something for them after

and it would be a massive change in concept for an institution that is notorious for disliking change


I just hope the next one carries on the changes made by this last one

Rest in Peace anyway - he did a good job!
