Unlikely that a helmet would have made any difference at all, but don't stop the helmet lobbyist jumping in and making a big fuss about it in the media. The is big money to made from frighting people. I noticed the BBC were trying to link it with cycle helmets yesterday...

And they failed. At least they did with Martin Bell who clearly stated that it was a matter of choice be it a cycle helmet or a skiing helmet. He was having none of it when it was suggested that helmet wearing ought tobe compulsory.

What a shame and according to reports, it wasn't a 'bad fall' and she felt fine at first. Maybe skiers should wear helmets.
