It's always sad to read this kind of story, even more so for her family and friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame  and according to reports, it wasn't a 'bad fall' and she felt fine at first. Maybe skiers should wear helmets.

A mate I go ski'ing with has worn one for about 4 years now. He is a bit full on though on the piste. If I go ski'ing again, I'll probably wear one as the speeds you can get up to warrant it.

What does he do when he wants to wash his hair?

There is a lot of risk in sports, horse riding , rugby etc, however this is particularly sad as she was a novice having a lesson and appeared to be new to the sport! Too young as well to lose your life!

I don't really know anything about her either but it is a tragedy but virtually all sports have dangers associated with them and she would have been aware of it.

My wife was knocked unconscious by a snowboarder the last time she went skiing, so I suppose she was lucky really!

Unlikely that a helmet would have made any difference at all, but don't stop the helmet lobbyist jumping in and making a big fuss about it in the media. The is big money to made from frighting people. I noticed the BBC were trying to link it with cycle helmets yesterday...:headshake:

I have skiied on and off for almost 25 years, and am now a lot steadier, and proficient than I was in the beginning.

It's all personal choice. I still feel safer skiing than I would going out for a night out on a friday or saturday in most towns and cities in this country.

Quite. I thought that might happen.

BTBH, it did enter my mind when I saw the report, that's all. More likely, the poor bugger had a weakness in her brain anyway.

Really sad to hear this news. I'd never heard of her until I took my kids to see Parent Trap. Attractive woman.

Lovely film. Twas when Lindsay Lohan was cute and cuddly.
