I often wondered why Foreman retired after the Rumble in the Jungle. Sure, defeat must have been hard, but Ali could not have pulled that rope-a-dope trick again.

I often wondered why Foreman retired after the Rumble in the Jungle. Sure, defeat must have been hard, but Ali could not have pulled that rope-a-dope trick again.

Foreman had a few fights after the rumble in the jungle before his first retirement. Foreman maintained he was ill/drugged before the Ali fight and certainly looked off his best. Haven’t really seen Foreman’s type of brooding menace since Tyson.
