Aged 80
As a teenager on Merseyside I preferred the Stones to the Beatles as, even aged 14 I was more into blues type music.
He will be missed.

A truly classy rocker. Worked as graphic designer for an advert agency for which he had formal training and that designer flair showed in the clothes he wore and the appearance he kept. A stand-out character. RIP Charlie.

That really is the end of an era. One of the most laid back, classiest musicians ever.

I did wonder how long he would last when I saw him on tour 3 or 4 years ago, he was looking old then, but still hit had great timing. He pulled out of their latest tour just a couple of months ago IIRC. Wonderful musician in a great band.

He always had that wonderful non-plussed look on his face. Totally unfazed by it all.

I like the fact all the other members had stupid jet black long hair, but he just looked like a bank manager most of the time.
He was a cool cat.
