I know dicking about with ring tones was something teenagers were doing about 15 years ago, but I have been amusing myself with them for a couple of days. I've downloaded the Star Trek communicator, an air raid siren, and several old classic phones. I have also tried to turn the opening bars of Joy Division's Shadowplay into a ringtone, but it's too low frequency to hear well on a smart phone. I took a section from M's Pop Muzik. That comes out pretty well.

Roobarb and Custard is classic, except when you receive a really serious call.

I've never heard my ringtone.........nobody call me
That's only because the secretary at the Yes fan club takes all your calls.

The Yorkshire Television fanfare (baaarrm paddam bamm barrrm) followed by the theme from How We Used To Live... the fanfare always raises a chuckle from those of a certain vintage.

The fanfare has a longer version with great shot's of Yorkshire. If you fancy a trip down memory lane most of the episodes "how you used to live" are on YouTube.
