Ring for triple chainset

I've got an ultegra triple groupset (6703) that I ordered from a handful of places. The chainset was bought from merlin. They didn't send me the ring that goes on the non drive side, I rang them and they said they would send me one out. Package turned up yesterday, was just another spacer, not the ring. I will ring them again on Monday and get them to send it again.

My problem no is no LBS has them in stock in Cornwall and I either get my bike up and running by Wednesday or I have to walk 10 miles each way to work. My LBS shop said he should get it in stock by Tuesday around 4pm but this is leaving it a little late if he doesn't.

Is there anywhere I can get something that will do the job like a plumbing supplier? Here is the item in question.

I think that the O ring is just a seal.

I'd try fitting the non drive side without it and just lightly tighten the preload screw as normal.

Check for play and if everything is ok then use the bike until it comes.

I thought that, but when I did (yesterday) there is a bit of wobble on the left hand crack. Nothing else wobbles so I have managed to set up all my gears, but I can't ride it because I will end up damaging it.
