I watched it twice blazed and although you cannot get a complete perspective from multiple angles the cyclist didn't really do anything wrong. Cant see behind him or any physical manoeuvre signals from the helmet cam but there was nothing wrong overtaking the other cyclist. Certainly no need for the motorist to honk his horn though!

For 30 seconds he is in the middle of the lane slowing traffic, why do you have to be in the middle of the lane for 30 seconds to overtake another cyclist?

If you were on your bike and someone/something was blocking you slowing you probably 30% wouldn't you get annoyed as the motorist did?

No way is he taking 30 seconds to overtake the other guy! I counted eighteen and thats being generous!

If you cant be patient in a car and wait eighteen seconds then your either a highly strung person or suffer from road rage. Consult help.

No. Not when I'm driving and not when cycling. Patience is a virtue to be nutured.

what exactly did the motorist do wrong? You mention the "must overtake mentality" but you yourself are overtaking a cyclist, does it not apply to you as well? You seem to be on a flat for sometime travelling fairly slow in the middle of the lane, is it any wonder people get pissed off or is that the whole, more angry drivers = more youtube views.

Been here. Done that. You missed the 'wind up magnatom' boat some time ago.

The excuse for being in the middle is overtaking another cyclist, from the beginning until the guy passes is 30 seconds of which he is in the middle.

And no neither of those need to apply to anybody, if someone is cycling at probably under 20mph in a 30mph area blocking you its going to get annoying.

Umm. No it is not. (I love how people often speak for me). Look again. Clue: brow of hill.

As I mentioned you cannot see what he has seen previously. He checked when approaching and I assume there was no car behind him when deciding to overtake.

Count from his position change (in road) to begin overtaking (as before this a car could overtake him no problem) the cyclist, I count 18-19 seconds of maximum inconvenience. I say inconvenience as he has every damn right to overtake and the motorist im pretty sure should hold back and wait last time I checked in the highway code!

Rule 212:
212
When passing motorcyclists and cyclists, give them plenty of room (see Rules 162-167). If they look over their shoulder it could mean that they intend to pull out, turn right or change direction. Give them time and space to do so.

The motorist also seem to violate this rule:

The Highway code said:
166
DO NOT overtake if there is any doubt, or where you cannot see far enough ahead to be sure it is safe. For example, when you are approaching
a corner or bend
a hump bridge
the brow of a hill

That's the one. I always take the same line here. Prevents overtakes where the car crosses the middle line and comes face to face with oncoming traffic.

.

from the beginning until the overtake mags is mostly going past parked cars and side roads.

parked cars = drivers opening doors without looking, right into the path of cyclists who don't leave parked cars enough room

side roads (as previously stated) = drivers pulling out without looking

While there aren't any cars waiting to turn in this case, there are pedestrians at the first junction and they tend to be unpredicatable and cross without looking if they can't here a car

If you watch the video carefully, he does more to the left after these hazards and just before the car overtakes.
