Broken left wrist according to the Rabobank website

Bugger, had him in my fantasy team + seems a good bloke and would have challenged in the mountains

He had quite a few injuries in that fall, including the wrist, and was obviously in some degree of pain in finishing the stage. Brave bloke and a damned shame.

Agree. Had him in my fantasy team as well and (along with the rest of Holland) was expecting him to do well come the mountains.

How come the thread name changed from "Gesink" to "Rider"? Now no-one knows who we're all feeling so sorry about?

It is if you haven't seen the highlights.

Sorry to be a bit fick and I get your drift and all, but would a 23-year-old foreign cyclist falling off his bike in his first Tour really make the highlights package?

Genuine question.

Never mind about spoilers. 80km with a broken wrist. Talk about MTFU

If it was me I would be sitting in a ditch crying like a little girl while waiting for the ambulance

Just shows what the Tour means to these riders
