Actually I'm not that annoyed, I was starting to have nightmares about finding a route through 20,000 cyclists, a lot of whom would probably be less experienced, plus the logistics of getting to and from the start/finish. I'll watch with interest how it pans out this year and decide whether to enter the ballot next year.
