Ribble Hybrid AL-e : Can you retro-fit e-shifters

My wife has a Ribble Hybrid AL-e fitted with the Mahle X35 motor. The motor is controlled by the iWoc One on the top tube.
Is it possible to retrofit e-Shifters onto the handlebars as she finds it difficult to change the assistance level whilst on the move using the iWoc One. Mahle does list the e-Shifters as being compatible with the X35 system but I can't find any more information on either the Mahle website or the Ribble website, apart from the fact that the latest AL-e seems to have a remote changer on the 'bars.
Any advice, information etc greatly appreciated.

I don't know ther answer to your question, but...

Use an old/inexpensive mobile in a bar mounted grip thing?

The Mahle Smartbike app has assistance +/- buttons at the top of the activitiy recording screen.

The app has three presets for the three assistance levels, plus one you can customise.

If you pair a heartrate monitor to the app, you can use an alternative heartrate based assistance after giving the app some info, hoping to test this today on my new GT eGrade Bolt.

I don't see this option, making me think the firmware on my GT is not current, but you can also set a different assistance system that reacts to your increased effort on a steeper gradient.

It should be possible depending on the age/model of X35 system your wife's bike is fitted with.
