Has anyone ordered from Bankrupt Bike Parts before? The name's putting me off.

https://bankruptbikeparts.co.uk/pro...YQpv4GSvTn0k5X9RnZuE6IlF4vubQ59bxEGk0FdcJxXEY

This rear wheel is described as '622x19', whereas mine is 622x14, whatever that means. Compatible or not?

Also, my tyre is 23mm and the description says it's for 28c upwards. Will my tyre fit on?

Bought loads of stuff from them over the years. Some proper deals but often depends on what they get in from various liquidators. They're in Brum. One day I'll go over in the car and have a look around. In my opinion you're safe 👍

622x19 refers to rim width and is wider than yours. Probably too wide for a 23mm tyre but, like they say, ok for 28's.

Nice one thanks for the info.
Shame about the tyre width, because the wheel price is great.

Just seen another decent price wheel which is dimension 622x17.
Would that be ok for a 23mm tyre?

I had one wheel rim spectacularly fail on me on a commute home once. Failed just as I hit a speed hump. Scary stuff.
It was one of the reasons I switched over to disk brakes.

Same here on my fixie. I'd gone the long way home, was literally at the furthest point from home, went round a RB and 'boom' rear wheel exploded, rim literally pealed away for 1/4 of the circumference. Hairy bringing a fixie to a stop.

Had to call out International Rescue. Fortunately, I had my bike rack on my car already, so MrsF came out with two young kids to collect me 10 miles from home. Then realised she'd come with her keys, and the rack's lock is on my keys that were at home. Had to remove both wheels and the mudguards to get the bike in the boot.

I think 622x17 is ok for a 23mm tyre, according to this Schwalbe chart.

UPDATE: Fitted a Shimano WH-RS100 wheel 622x17 which fitted fine with my 23mm tyres.

I fitted the cassette and then fitted the wheel on the bike. Thought it was all done, then realised I forgot to fit the spacer on the freehub body! ...Fitted it now and working fine 👌
