I'll have a look but I think theres an option to delete ride history there was with the old 305 anyway.

Cheers dude. So if new buyer connects it up to a PC Mac etc there is no issue with it already being registered with my computer. They can use it normally create there own profile etc.

Absolutely. They will create a Garmin Connect account or Strava account or whatever of their own and the website will retrieve the data from whatever device is plugged in.

Deleting the history and courses etc is just a case of preserving you privacy and I did exactly the same thing when I sold my Edge 500 on.

I don't think you can bulk delete ride history on the unit. However, link it up to a computer and do it from there.

You could on the Edge 500 and you can on the Edge 810, wonder why they omitted this from the Edge 200.

settings > system > factory reset

That doesn't clear the ride data and courses etc.

I know you are on about a 200 but on the 705 to stop the memory getting too cluttered and taking lots of time to download

  • I will hook the unit up to the computer.
  • Go to the history of the unit.
  • Delete all the rides.
  • Turn the unit on and delete the history.

That's all I was worried about them not being able to access all my data and that they can use it as there own unit etc. don't want the sell on grief of someone saying it doesn't work as it's a different username etc.

If there is no mass delete on the unit, either delete one by one or just plug it in and delete the contents of the activities, totals and courses folders using your pc. Then turn it on, check all is gone. Then do the factory reset. When the new owner gets it, it will be like pulling a brand new unit from the box and will prompt them to enter their details when they turn it on.

I know the units I have owned had a mass delete because I use it approx once a week as I don't let data build up because I found that having loads of data on the device seemed to correlate to poor performance of the unit, crashes etc.

Nice one that will do the job appreciate your help folks.

If all your info is wrong I will tell the buyer it's all your fault
