Replacing PF30 BB with adapters

You don’t need to change crankset. I’d just let the LBS change the bottom bracket, they’re cheap enough.

In the end that may be the route I'll have to take. I'd rather do it, myself, but I'm afraid of damaging the shell while removing the old BB. Then if I got it out, successfully, it still remains that the new one has to be installed, and I don't have the right tools for that. The reason I'm looking at the adapter is because the two parts screw together, and it might make future maintenance easier.
