Are they tubeless ready? Maybe try tubeless before new wheels?

The wheels are tubeless ready, but I don't get how it would solve the problem. Maybe if you never want to swap your tyres? First you would have to find a set of tubeless ready tyres that you can fit on the rim, and in a bad emergency you would still sometimes need to use a tube which would be a pain.

Anyways, the peace of mind of having normal wheels and not worrying about a puncture on every ride is 100 % worth the money.

After reading this thread, and having used the technique as per the video (by 531colin of a neighbouring parish) linked below to resolve my own difficulties with non Triban wheels and Vittoria Randonneur tyres, I almost wish I had a Triban just for the challenge of removing and fitting a tyre ^_^

Well today a friend dropped off a Triban rear wheel that his grandson and the grandson's father struggled with - they struggled to unseat the Decathlon tyre to remove the old tube and decided not to try to get a new tube in and the tyre back on.

I have to say that it very much was a challenge - it took me over 20 minutes and I had to resort to toeclip straps and tyre levers - the first time I have had to use either to get a tube in/tyre on since using colin531's method as per the video I posted.

I did manage it though. Saying that, I would never want to attempt it on the road and if it were my bike and I were doing any serious distance/overnight journeys on the bike, I would very seriously consider changing the wheels.

Hey everyone,
need advice from you and I will use this thread (if I may) since you are already discussing this: I have a Triban RC520 2021 (stock) that I love and have the rear wheel slightly bent. I always wanted to make a wheel upgrade, so I was thinking about doing it now, but I have zero knowledge about rims, hubs, etc. I was eyeing the DT Swiss P1800 Spline (https://www.bike-discount.de/en/dt-swiss-p-1800-spline-28-23mm-shimano-wheelset), which I can find one used pair (in new condition) for about €100. I talked to the seller, and he told me that the wheels have a XDR hub (?) and will not fit my bike. What accessories do I need to buy, so the wheels can be used in the triban?

so you need to work out what you have.

Hubs / axle fitting is it quick release or a thru axle?
Hub cassette spline type - shimano or Campag (will be the former on a Triban)
Brakes - rim or disc?
is disc how attached - 6 bolt or centre lock?

match the above (and the correct wheel size 700c) and you'll be fine

Hello! Thanks for the response!
Hubs / axle - quick release
Hub cassette - Microshift CS-H110 11S 11/32 cassette
Brakes - disc 6 bolt

Is this one: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/road-bike-triban-rc-520-disc-brake-blue/_/R-p-308072?mc=8554421&c=blue . From what Im understanding, I now have to buy a thru axle to QR adapters and a new freehub, am I right?

I switched from the stock wheels to Mavic disc askium over a year ago due to the stock wheels being such a nightmare and have had no issues.

I have recently put tyres on ready for the winter. I have fit Hutchinson 38c tyres with ease.
