replace or repair?

Well took it back in at the weekend and having it repaired. had the choice of shimano rs10s or up grading to rs30s so went for the upgrade and spent a couple of extra quid on it.

sixteen spoke wheels are very, very difficult to straighten. The simple thing is to replace the rims, but, even there, my brother (Tavistock Cycles) is the only person I know who replaces those rims. Most shops will offer a new wheel as a more economic option, and RS30s are, I'm told, damn good for the money.

Ah - but do all the spokes on a given side have even tension?

Not sure they could be repaired as the seem where they join has been split open as well

That looks like one of the really early incarnations of the Genesis Day 02s, maybe the fist year. It still looks good (apart from the bar ends but that can't be helped), so well done and repair it.

When I was shown how to build and true them I was told there is around 3/4 of a lb ever side of 23lbs.
