I bought the tool at lbs and removed the crankset ok. Now I am looking at a square end spindle, and can't get the inner casing of the bottom bracket ( I guess these are what peeps call cups??) Out. The inner ring of these cups has a circle of what look like small castle battlements . I guess these are wherei need another tool??? The veloce crankset does not fit over the square spindle as it has a hexagonal recess. The guy at Merlin bikes said the veloce crank would fit a square end spindle...erm..they don't as far as I can tell.
Soooo.....

What other tool do I need?
I am assuming I need a new bottom bracket now and nit just the veloce power torque cups I have in my hand?

I'm trying to upload a picture but failing on my phone..sorry...

I can visualise the tool would look like a cylinder with matching ' battlements' to slot in to this bottom bracket...which I think came with the fsa tempo crankset I have just removed.
This must be the bottom bracket removal tool don't have right?
...inserts vulgar profanity here.

If it's an old FSA it's not likely to fit a different manufacturer's cranks - after all they need to make a living!
The correct way to go is to change all through to ensure it all fits and works correctly. Anything else is pointless and ends in expensive tears. A bit like bodges using the wrong/cheap/adapted tools. Do it once and do it right.

And those are also inexpensive, I think I paid less than 20.00 for mine when I got my first bike that was new enough to have such a bottom bracket. About a month ago.

Yay....I've got the fsa bb out and installed on another frame, and the new campag bb cups and crsnkset installed....just need a mega big hex wrench to tighten up the left crank..more tool deficiancy issues...next up is fitting the new chain...thought that would be easy..erm.but getting it the right length looks easier sedded than done...will conquer it tomorrow...
After all this it will be a new bike apart from the frame.
