Having previously been a runner, clocking up 30 - 50 miles per week, I burned off more calories than my mere 100+ cycle weeks yet having switched my allegiance, I have found I am constantly hungry. I never used to snack in between meals but now if I don't, I'll murder someone to death.

Does anyone else have experience with this and how do you tell your hunger to bog off? My bmi is 21 so weight isn't an issue here but I don't want it to get that way.

You're hungry for a reason - you're very greedy your body probably needs the calories. I consume around 3500-4000 calories a day (average) and am maintaining my racing weight at 75kg (180cm height). During periods where I've tried to get to my "hill climbing" weight, I find I can't actually train properly and my power numbers of way off normal.

Yeah. I have breakfast, cycle to work, then I'm ready for my lunch at 10.30!

It's only a 16 mile round trip (21 on a Tuesday as I do turbo stuff first) :-O

Then the bigger miles later on on the week which doesn't seem to bother me as much.

I'll get home at 7.30 this eve and probably eat the entire contents of the fridge. Then have dinner.

I'd go with the greedy angle *SLAP* ;)

Usually poached eggs. Cause they're well dead nice and that.

Had peanut butter toast and a yoghurt this very morning tho.

I remember this feeling when I first upped my mileage, I think my body kinda got used to it. I still eat more than most, in fact there's a running joke whenever we eat out. I finish the main course then compliment the chef on the 'amuse bouche' starter.

I've never done this.

I personally wouldn't worry about it... a pro racing cyclist once said to me (when I asked for advice regarding nutrition) "do you think the chocolate cookies are going effect you, in my opinion, no".

Porridge (optional fruit, nuts seeds added) is the answer, before a big ride (50 miles+) imo.
If I neglect to have it I'll not stop eating for a week after, thus invalidating the calorie deficit of the ride
