Thanks to all for the good wishes.
Work has a "Best in Red" competition so I thought I might me in with a good chance (thinking outside the box), but apparently I don't qualify as I won't be there on the day.
Have been told to have a good breakfast beforehand but nothing for 6 hours before admission. That's 12:30 so it's going to be a very early start to the day.

I'm home.
Minimal discomfort at the moment but that could be due to the cocaine. Enough for me to give a positive result for 5 days apparently. Complete rest for 2 days then gentle exercise allowed for the next week.
Good job I managed to get the March half century ride done before this.

David Lammy MP has been having a serious pop at Comic Relief and the way it portrays Africans.

He was particularly annoyed at a pic of Stacey Dooley holding a black child.

Lammy coined the phrase 'poverty porn'.

I understand Dooley was the only 'celebrity' who was sent to Africa to film this year, so it appears Comic Relief may already have the point.
