Hi, As the title says really, for a friend of mine. Wondering what is recommended by the female cycling community saddle wise. Any recommendations/ advice most welcome.

Everyone has a different take on what suits them so expect loads of answers.
Mrs bearing swears by the Selle ladies Gel flow which i think is the womens version of the C2

Like buying any saddle you might have to try several before finding one that suits. Most manufactuers offer women specific models so there is plenty of choice. Unfortunately what might be one persons perfect saddle is anothers instrument of torture and gel saddles seem to offer less comfort for some than firmer ones.

Aldi's own (racing style) does it for me
Used to have a gel saddle, but after about a year I found it uncomfortable.

i don't have a women's specific one. it's just marketing bollox. take your friend to an LBS, get her pelvic sit bones measured and then get a saddle to fit them. job done. The sit bones are the pointy bits at the bottom of your pelvis that you sit on. The problem your friend probably has is that most bikes come with a saddle to fit a men's pelvic sit bones, which are closer together. Your friend is probably sitting on all the soft bits in between and then feels tender next time she sits on her saddle! not comfy). The trick is to get a saddle to fit the width of the sit bones, but not going any wider than that.

Several of my female cycling buddies can't do more than a few miles on a saddle that doesn't have a cut out. I'm the opposite.

I seem to have a "Specialized" backside ... I've had 3 or 4 of their saddles over the years including Ariel, Windle Sport and Riva that I can remember.

So that would be a ladies saddle then ?
FWIW I recomend the ladies brooks [or rather I know some that do] and the old B17 suits a lot of people of whatever gender.
