If you can bear to cycle up along the northern line, Micycle (Liverpool road, near angel) are really, really good :okay: Guys in there are great.

My enjoyment of my bike increased considerably after I learned to look after it myself.

Except for parts, my services are free. My bike doesn't get a six-monthly service, it's assessed every time I ride it. I don't have to listen to some snake-oil salesman telling me I should upgrade this or replace that.

DIY may not be for everyone, but I would encourage it where possible.

I agree.

I struggle for time though. Work long hours and use the bike for commuting. I barely want to look at the thing at the weekend when I've already clocked up over 100 miles through London every week.

It's the lazy (and expensive) way out, but we increasingly live in a service economy.

I'm buying the time more than the service.
