You could just have your Garmin Connect automatically sync with Strava. Garmin Connect has died as a social media.

I use my Forum name just to make me a wee bit less traceable to bike thieves, I know a few folk who have done similar and your mate might have done it for similar reasons.

But unfortunately it doesn't work with Garmin Connect. They charge $5000 for the access that MCL, Endomondo and Strava give away for free.

There is probably a correlation between them putting barriers between users and their data and this ....
