OK, but what about the Shimano?
Less than 1/2 iirc, its a while since I've had one; Typically I'd change the chain at 1500miles and the new one would skip :-(

I run SRAM Red as of this week, but opted for Force level cassette and chain for economy.

Same set up as what I've run the last 2 years. The Red cassette is just too pricey, although I understand a lot of pros ran the Force one as the old Red cassette was too noisy. Have you got the new Red with the yaw FR? I'd be
interested to hear how you get on.

For the last couple of years I have got a SRAM PG 1050 cassette and SRAM 1051 chain and never had any issues.

Chain comes with powerlink, which I like to undo for cleaning the chain "properly" before putting back on nice and shiny (some people say you should never undo and redo a chain, but I have had no probs so far). A few gearing options on the cassette too...would imagine a man of your climbing ability Chris would go for the standard 12-23, and not the 11-32 like me .

I usually find cheap online and then get from Evans after asking them to price match (which they have done). Usually around £50 to £60 for cassette and chain, depending on offers at the time, which isn't too bad once a year (every Spring, after around 5,000 miles for me).

Good luck fella

I have the new Yaw front mech yeah, my group is previous rear mech and shifters (wanted the trim incase at some point I want a different front mech at some point and need to trim to avoid chain rub, also saves about £100) and the current brakes, front mech and chainset (although I got the Quarq power meter chainset which is not quite the same, although it uses the same chainrings as the front mech and new chainrings work as a system, apparently, it just doesn't bolt straight into the crank arm, it is just a hidden bolt).

I have not been able to form much of an opinion yet as I have only done turbo miles and not shifted a lot, time will tell. I do love the rear shifting though!
