I can vouch for the DogCam HD camera, I bought one after a van driver almost hit me (punched me), however stopped using mine after I failed to catch the moronic BMW driver who wrote my old Merida off.

Records in 720p, was a narrow angle, as couldn't afford the wide angle, but picked up registration plates and other bits incredibly well.

Flasher incident @ScotiaLass ???
Sounds good, I'll take a look at that one, thanks

Just got my Mobius Cam since you updated the thread thought I might as well drop it here.
£40 and took about a week and half to arrive. A lot better than the 808 #16 I had previously, and it lasted my whole hour journey and had more in the tank. I believe that horrible noise is more down to the vibration going through the handle bars.

Just to say I've been using my SJ4000 for a couple of weeks, and I'm very pleased with it. Only problem is that the waterproof case doesn't let any sound in. There is a different back for the case included that is supposed to let in sound - I will try it sometime.

Holy thread revival..

I am now looking for a helmet cam after the P.O.S. on yesterday's ride worried me a smidge.
We've looked at the £99 Go Pro and at a Sony thing for about £135. I am erring towards the ones that look like a bike light on the side of the helmets than a top of the helmet one. I'd rather not end up like Michael Schumacher?

Any thoughts on some of the current crop of cameras out there? Budget at around £100.

I wouldn't. That camera looks very similar to one that techmoan.com gave a very mediocre review of, albeit in a nice box etc. Sorry haven't got time to find you the link now.

Edit - found you the link. I will leave it it up to you to decide if it is the same camera or not

I think these are different altogether to be honest.
Those look like the cheap ones you can buy on ebay for about £20.
I've checked out the review of this one http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/c...w-replay-xd-1080-mini-action-camera-15-49222/
Looks ok for the money.

I suspect it's the same camera badged / blinged. If not, it's based on the same design. Look at the switch / sd card slot placement on the back of the camera, plus the kind of crosshairs on the front, around the lens.

Don't you think the cheaper one may have been copied from the more expensive?

I have a mobius which I think is good but it's not waterproof as mentioned but you could make a little rain shield . Battery life is short but if I need longer I rig up a small battery pack kept in a jacket pocket and connect via a very thin usb cable (stripped from a retractable cable). Recorded for 3 hours plus using just a cheapo 3000 mah powerbank - probably could've gone longer (mem card the limiting factor).
