Joe Blows work well. Mine's a Joe Blow Max. You have to put a surprising amount of weight on the handle to get up to 100psi but it's very quick.

We have a joe blow, had it a few years and no problems yet.
Son uses it for his footballs too!

The beto ones are fine but I agree with @raleighnut that replacing the head is probably better if your current pump's otherwise OK.

Another satisfied Joe Blow customer. I think mine's a Sport II. Seemed expensive when I paid about £30 for it about 4 years ago but has been effective, quick and trouble-free.

Thanks for all your replies. Brilliant. My pump's fine on Schrader valves so I might go for a replacement head first and use my hand pump in the meantime. My pump is a Beto and has been good up till now.

My mate got a Joe Blow and it was hard work blowing up the tyres compared to my Rennkompressor. At only about £15 more it's a no brainer. His Joe Blow couldn't get the tyres up to 120psi no matter how hard we tried! Can't remember the exact model he had but be careful if buying a cheap pump to blow tyres to a high pressure. May be fine for MTB tyres though.
