Spinkle talcum powder on the tyre all around the last bit that goes over the rim, it will help it to slide on with no need for tyre levers. You will be surprised how easy it is!

And get yourself a track pump!

Re the levers causing punctures - OH was getting the additional puncture using the levers to get the tyre off. He has hands like shovels and has no problems getting the tyres back on!
The levers were plastic and nothing obviously sharp on them, but something was catching every time and causing an additional hole. Another set of different plastic levers sorted it.

I don't think I've ever used any type of tool to put the tyre back on, even Marthon plus tyres (which are well known for being difficult) ... THIS is the best example of fitting the most difficult tyre around without the use of tools.

If you think Marathon plus's are tight have a go at fitting Continental Grand Prix Supersonic tyres. Luckily I have a similar tool to the one in the link several posts earlier which lifts the bead over the rim from the outside and cannot trap the tube. By comparison My Marathon plus's are a doddle ( different bikes, same rims, Mavic Open Sports )

I had similar experiences with bi-weekly punctures in my supposedly heavy duty conti gatorskins. In the end I changed to a Durano and not trouble since - but upon careful checking, found a slight fraying on the inside of the conti - where a (removed) sharp thing had cut through. I think the damage had been causing the dozen or so punctures. And I'd checked the inside pretty diligently - but obviously not as well as I'd thought. Nothing wrong with the gatorskins per se - the remaining gatorskin has done 10,000 miles without a problem
