can't get my trousers past my huge thighs!!
as a follow on from my Claris post I would like some extra advice on puncture inspection on road bike tyres......the reason being is that before I got knocked down I had 3 punctures 3 days in a row!!

I inspected thoroughly the inner tyre......running my fingers on the inside etc. and found nothing and put in new inner tubes and repaired ones too but still seemed to get a puncture in the same area!!

either it's the tiniest little piece of glass that is harmless till my fat ass squishes the tyre down or maybe the rim is doing it as I have had a few bumps though the rim is perfectly straight with no buckles etc.

any help.....and advice would be helpful so I can get my 'new' bike working again

New wheels, tyres and tubes should sort it.

Is the rim tape in good nick ... given you have tape on your type of wheels..

Turn the tyre inside out to take a closer inspection !

the bike is pretty much brand new....rim tape is fine....clean tidy....no tears or anything and have also folded the tyres inside out twice to really have a look at it and found nothing!!! :so a little baffled hence why im asking as it's always the same area

When you remove the tube, remember which way round it was in the tyre. Once you've found the puncture you'll then know exactly where to look in the tyre for sharps.

What pressure are you put in the tubes.....

Check any nicks in the tyre for embedded debris. that you cant see, i have a medical scalpel that is thin and sharp enough for the job but maybe a thin steak knife?

I did squeeze...bend and thoroughly examine the affected area and the rest of tyre and found nothing at all

Was the puncture anywhere near the valve? If so, perhaps inspect the valve hole for sharp edges? Also check the wheel rim for sharp edges.

now that I don't know.....pressure gague on my little pump broke a long while back and didn't really matter as I was on a MTB but the tyre wasn't as hard as when I first got the bike......the front one is perfect and never needed any air put it in since I got it........the rear needed pumped up every other day then the punctures started
