Ok i think i will be needing lights pretty soon and basically don't know what to get. Should the rear light be flashing or static?
What lights do you guys recommend, i can't spend a fortune on lights

I (and a lot of people on here) have 2 rear lights. One flashing, One static.

If you a feeling very very generous you could buy yourself a Dinotte 400R, it does both at the same time.

One of each which makes it extremely unlikely that both will stop working because of flat batteries at the same time. I like the Smart 1/2W ones myself.

Two is the minimum. I'd urge caution in the use of two Smart branded lights if you ride in the rain. They may both malfunction unless you get generous with the vaseline at battery time.

one of mine now won't turn on whilst the other won't turn off!

I use a couple of smart 1/2 watt rears and they are bright and seem reliable. The superflash is water tight and I have had no issue with mine in torrential rain.

Smart Lunar R2 on the seat stay flashing, and a 1/2 Watt on the rear on steady.
Works for me

The R2 seems to have a better seal than the 1/2 Watt, it has been out plenty of times in the wet with no ill effect, the 1/2 Watt is fairly new so time will tell on that one.

1 x 1/2 watt and 2 x Lunars on the rear for the duration of the recent wet FNRttC London - Bognor.

1/2 watt was fine. Both Lunars acted up after a few hours in the rain. One went out and would not turn back on, one won't turn off.

I have got a lunar R1 but I have a problem with it as it wont stay on. Is this a common fault as I love the light and would consider getting a couple more but need them to be reliable. At the moment I don't trust it as my main light so my 2nd cheaper one has taken over being my primary and its not that great. £13.99 for a new lunar I wouldn't mind getting a couple if they are normally fine.

Cant take my current one back as I cant find the receipt
