Rear Hub tickover getting louder

Hi all,

I have here a Bob Jackson 26" wheel hooked up to a Shimano RS10 rear hub. It's done 500 miles from new in the last 3 months, and was lovely and quiet in operation. However, recently I've noticed it getting quite a bit louder with the ticking noise you get when not pedalling. Is the grease inside gone already? And if it is, what grease do you recommend?

yeah, pack some more grease in there. Bike grease is much the muchness. I use the Halfords stuff and that's suffice.
I'm another one who prefer's a nice quiet hub...

I would replace it as getting at the pawls is not as easy as you think and stripping the entire body requires a tool that shimano no longer sell.

Set the bike on it's side with the freewheel facing up and work some oil into it.
