slack chain  (seriously though, a bit...)
Nice, but I'd tilt the bars down a little as well. Nice rims

it is a very nice bike indeed but if it were me i'd change the black stem out for a nice silver alu one which will match your seat post, chainset and silver rims. That black stem sticks out like a sore thumb and spoils the overall effect imho.
So how does it ride

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Like a dream. The bars are a bit 'up' 'cos i'm used to having hoods to honk on. The stem does indeed need polishing (as do the cranks) and that saddle's a temporary job.

The pink bar tape looks much better in the flesh though, as it were.

Where do I start?

The hubs don't match
Anatomic bars?! Tsk. It needs a Maes bend. With a matching polished silver stem.
Pink and burgundy!?! are you demented?? Tan, brown, black, white, cream, ivory or burgundy are the only colours which go with burgundy.
Bar tape may be modern cork such as Cinelli but Benotto or cloth tape would be much more appropriate.
Tyres with yellow stripes. Jeebus. On bikes over twenty years old tyres may only be black or amberwall.
Brooks, Lysette, Lepper. Certainly not that monstrous abomination.
It needs dummy hoods, available from St John's Street.
Aero rims are barely tolerable. Wolber Super Champion or at the very least Mavic MA2s would be more in keeping.

Apart from that though it's lovely! ;)

My my mickle I didn't have you down as a restoration bore buff! I'll make sure it's replete with period rim tape and some airlite hubs before I wave it under your nose again:thumbsup:!

You obviously have a heavy crack habit if you think dummy hoods- from st. john's or indeed elswhere- are tolerable!

The eventual use for this bike is gonna be trackwork. You can't thrutch on a brooks 'cos you'll hurt yourself at some point. Lysette and Lepper saddles are shite. Saying that it does need a decent saddle. It did have a pair of wobler super champs (in 40 drilling) in its original incarnation, but they too were poo. The front wheel's off my crosser and the back rim was a lying around job.

And it's not burgundy, it's a deep deep gloss claret just like this bottle i'm airing. So there:excl::biggrin:

Foss- The frame was enamelled up in mossley. My build is also ready for powder coating- Been really really busy since November with work so that kinda thing has kind of taken to the back burner. sort of. I'll be putting pics up soon.

Nice bike Dan, I went through Mossley today after reading this at work and wondered if they'd done it.

Am I going to get to see the naked one before powder coating?
