A Minging Manc...
Yep - the strada is pretty solid once clicked in. But needs a real push

I just fitted a Cateye MICRO this week and must admit, the clip is tight, so tight I usually put a finger on the mount to avoid the chance of it spinning around the handle bar while I clip the computer in. IMO once it is clipped in properly it would take a BIG impact to knock that sucker loose.

Think you've been very unlucky. Got a cateye Double Wireless and it's been faultless in two years - the signal isn't even broken by two Hope 1's sat each side of it.

Think I have been unlucky because I made sure it was secure anyway I'm on the way to the shop to see what they can do.

I've done almost 2500 miles with the same piece of kit including some shocking roads that would rattle your fillings out. Never had a problem with the thing coming loose. Must have been a rogue one. Good that they've replaced it.

Another one here I'm afraid. I had a Cateye Strada wireless computer for a couple of years. Excellent kit. Stoped at my local shop to get new batteries. Fitted them, re-mounted computer on the stem. Rode off. Heard a clatter going downhill at around 25 mph. Thought nothing of it. A mile later, looked down. No computer. Now I know what the clatter was.

Retraced my route, no sign of computer - must have bounced into the long grass and I decided that searching through all that over a about half a mile of verge on a busy road was going to end in tears, so gave up. £40 odd for the computer, plus £7 for 2 new batteries. Yup, make sure you've got it well clicked home before you ride off.

Bought another, and you can be sure that I now double check that it's clicked home. At least I now have mounts for 2 bikes, and a computer to swap between them. Only have to remember which is wheel size A, or B.....

I'm not alone then Andy lol. So glad I have it doing the pedal for Scotland on Sunday then back again and the thing I would miss the most would be not knowing the time during it!

Look on the bright side- for every one that falls off, somebody finds one for nothing.

Cateye stuff would be brilliant if they could just develop versions suitable for mounting on bicycles. The mounts are rubbish - I've picked up a couple of back lights, and lost a computer, so am pretty much quits.

I don't think it's just the Cateye products either, I found a nice 'Smart' back light on Tuesday.
