Sometimes they are easy to undo, and sometimes you may struggle and reach for the pliers. It's a complete mystery to me.

...assuming you have the quick link at the top of the chain run, not along the bottom. DAMHIKT.Foot on the pedal and a handful of brake will close the link just as effectively.

Bearing in mind also that "reusable" doesn't mean "can be reused as many times as you like".That said chain cleaning by the mickle method means there is little need to remove a chain once fitted
