You could train to be a cycle instructor. Me and the other half have, it's interesting and it seems like there should be plenty of work (when we've done our First Aid Course), plus Southend is now a Cycle Town so the training ought to be heavily subsidised. A chap from Southend asked me at the training to work for them (although it's a bit too far away for us really, we'll stick with Colchester/Chelmsford) so there ought to be opportunities. Pay isn't huge but adds up reasonably I should imagine.
