as cycling has become more popular and, possibly due to cycling-friendly planning conditions, more and more workplaces seem to offer facilities for us commuters.

i've experienced everything from no bike sheds and only a disabled toilet in which to do shower-in-a-can and baby wipes ablutions, to secure-access bike stores with all the facilities you could wish for.

rate your current job's facilities; it doesn't count if you work from home, but you can change your vote if you change jobs, or your employer improves the cyclist's lot...

i'll kick off and give my employer a 4; everything's there (secure bike storage, showers, lockers and even a drying room), but the showers and lockers are a long corridor apart, and access to the whole area is via a metal staircase (having had to in the lift and through the cafeteria in sweaty lycra) that isn't a whole lot of fun in cleats. but still, mustn't grumble...

My employer offers a secure bike shed, with electronic key access. However, space is limited in summer. There is also a shower, or is it two, but for an office of 400. However, my understanding is they are poorly ventilated and maintained, and there are no lockers.

I've give it a 2 based on the storage and access to a shower. They may push the C2W scheme, but they need to do more to support those bikes ever actually seeing our office! I will add I don't commute because of this; even though it's just four miles, even taking it easy I sweat a lot.

My employer is pro cycling ish, and lots cycle, but facilities could be better. There are bike stands for about 80 bikes but even in winter that's not enough and in summer definitely not enough. There is the occasional Brompton around the office and nobody complains or complains about wet clothes but nowhere to dry them.

Decent showers, locker room, drying room, and cycle stand under shelter in a "secure" police compound. I gave it four stars purely because every now and then there aren't enough spaces (not often, but getting more common), and the stands themselves are horrible wheelbenders, but I really can't complain with what we do have!

My bike lives in my reception. If i have an important client coming it is relegated to the store/server room. It never is put outside in the bike racks. I have a shower on the floor above. I have a travel iron in the office and a large radiator if my kit gets damp.
Spoilt moi? Probably.......

I'm going with 3 stars for my last 3 employers. All had/have covered bike racks in the staff car park and limited access to showers.
The previous two did C2W, I don't think my current one does.

Our bike shed was due to be upgraded/roofed bth I haven't looked, the director hasn't objected to me leaving my bike at the end of the office. Although I have never had one at any of my old jobs the shower is handy though and I can go harder & longer in the morning than I've done before.

There are a couple of Sheffield stands by the loading bay, but they're by the loading bay where careless delivery drivers seem to like bumping into them with impunity, there are also no wash facilities and nowhere to hang/dry a wet jacket.

We have a bike shed with two combination locks. However, space is limited as due to building work they've amalgamated three sheds into one. I have a locker and stuff can be sort of dried in the washroom / bog. There is a shower a couple of floors up which I could probably use although it is meant for emergencies. So sort of good facilities by default, not design. I'll give 'em a three for the shed.

I know there's another CCer at my place of work so it'd be interesting to see what they think...

Excellent showers.

Middling locker facilities.

Poor bike racks, although I abuse my position and bring my bike into the building and stash in in a top secret location in the rear stairwell by the cleaners cupboard.

3 out of 5.

4 stars.

Indoor, secure parking. Hangers for drying stuff. Lockers available. Just the one small shower.
