Raleigh Royal mid 80's

Lovely bike. I picked one up with 10 miles on the clock since it left the factory in 1985. Mines 23.5inch.

I keep thinking about selling it on, but.

That looks like new, how come I can never find anything like that.

It is as new. The grease in the BB was like wax as it had been stored since new. I had to clean it all up, regrease and reassemble. I just got lucky. I recently picked up a 1980s Raleigh Royal frame that has never been built into a bike. It's factory fresh. I've also ended up with some dogs as well though. Win some lose some.

The best frame I ever found/bought is my 653 TT one but that isn't in that pristine a condition. one of these days I'll manage to get a digital camera and post some piccies (one of these days my leg will be better and then I can get back to working and have some money for a change)

Basic 8 speed Tiagra groupset with indexed DTs. R500 wheels. 25" frame. Weighs 10kg. Love it.

I've just picked up a Raleigh Royal 10 today and wondered which brake blocks you went for? Mine is not as tidy as the pics on here but will brush up pretty well. Paint is a bit scratched but reasonable. Also needs an original seat pin so if some one has a pic I would be very grateful.

@biggs682 lovely bike Martin, my bud has got one that he picked up last year. He's modded his with 7 speed/brake shifters. It rides like a dream!

The couple i have had always ride nice , yet to try one of the later ones fitted with canti's
