However, I'm also in Leeds, so
, and ride a 1986 Raleigh Team as a 'bad weather' commuter. I'm running 28mm Michelin Dynamic tyres but the frame would also take any other 28mm such as Gatorskins.
I'd suggest nothing wider than this and I've struggled getting mudguards on.
On the commute and my main commuter I run 23mm Schwalbe Lugano's. They're fine as long as you check them regularly - and I ride a pretty awful route through Beeston/Belle Isle into Leeds. *
* For the uninitiated:
Beeston = danger and this is required luggage:
Belle Isle = oddities. I've had the same lady flash me twice. And she wasn't pretty
